PLACE for Educators, Professionals and Caregivers

Working with or raising global majority children and young adults is a joyful undertaking but due to institutional racism, it comes with many additional challenges that are deeply embedded in British culture. Acknowledging the emotional demands of these roles, PLACE offers a variety of interactive workshops, drop-in sessions and one-to-one sessions that support teachers, parents, foster carers and other care professionals to connect with the global majority children and young people in their lives. Children are the young change-makers of the world and they deserve a future free from racial inequality. Through education, understanding, and unity, PLACE creates opportunities for global majority children and young people to learn, grow, build bridges of understanding and achieve their full potential. Our workshops, drop-in sessions and one-to-one sessions are designed to encourage a greater sense of identity and belonging, which is too often minimised (or stripped away entirely) by exclusion, cultural insensitivity and institutionalised racism.
