PLACE
Where practising love, acceptance and care for ethnicities becomes natural.
PRACTICE
Taking action again and again so that a new pathway gets created in the brain,
positively impacting your behaviours
LOVE
Expressing warmth, compassion and goodwill towards all with the human desire to prioritise universal happiness and/or contentment
ACCEPTANCE
Acknowledging and embracing the full range of your thoughts,
emotions and experiences as well as that of others without avoidance, denial or alteration
CARE
Creating a foundation of safety by being attentive, considerate,
supportive and sensitive to the identity, dignity and needs of others
ETHNICITIES
Respecting the ethnic diversity of others by challenging your personal biases in order to facilitate, collaborate and cooperate
PLACE for Educators, Professionals and Caregivers
- Establishing a positive and effective learning environment whether in a community, school, or domestic setting
- Creating a clearer understanding of and appreciation for Black and other global majority cultures
- Dealing with frustration, conflict and destructive behaviours and peer alienation
- Setting boundaries while maintaining goodwill and building rapport
- Accessing opportunities for networking, collaboration, and mutual support
PLACE for Children and Young People
Children are the young change-makers of the world and they deserve a future free from racial inequality. Through education, understanding, and unity, PLACE creates opportunities for global majority children and young people to learn, grow, build bridges of understanding and achieve their full potential. Our workshops, drop-in sessions and one-to-one sessions are designed to encourage a greater sense of identity and belonging, which is too often minimised (or stripped away entirely) by exclusion, cultural insensitivity and institutionalised racism. An experienced PLACE facilitator can empower children to:
- Amplify their voices and engage in healthy dialogue about their lives, relationships and futures
- Unite with their peers from diverse backgrounds
- Gain a deeper understanding of the issues and learn how to break down barriers
- Turn the many adversities they face into strengths
- Embrace their uniqueness
- Have fun
